In Too Deep by Brandy L Rivers - Spotlight & Giveaway

Fallon is a brilliant tattoo artist with inherent magic. Tired of men and their games, she climbs onto her Harley and leaves her old life behind.

Brody is a talented motorcycle mechanic and werewolf stuck in his painful past. It’s just another depressing night until he’s attacked by vampires. Thinking he killed them, he runs into the night and crashes into Fallon.

Unwilling to walk away from anyone in need, she heals Brody and then takes out the vampires who aren’t as dead as he thought. Her past collides with the present, and she finds herself stranded in Edenton, Washington where an old friend lives. With no ride and no real plan, she winds up staying in Brody’s empty apartment.

Feeling alive for the first time in years, Brody is determined to claim Fallon’s heart and keep her safe from the shadows in her past. However, she prides herself on her independence and would rather keep him safe, even from herself.

With the impending danger from the group of vampires and dark mages, they will have to work together. The closer they get, the harder it is for her to fight her attraction.

Be prepared for monsters, magic and lots of ink.

My Review:

As an avid reader, I believe the only way to get people sold on your series is to write a kick ass, attention grabbing first novel. Clearly Ms. Rivers already knew that b/c this book was AWESOME!!! Maybe I should first admit that I am a lover of all things paranormal so I could potentially be a little biased. However, I know talent when I see it and In Too Deep was a perfect way of showcasing exactly what Ms. Rivers is capable of.

I was pretty much hooked from the first page right up to the last. The story line was intriguing and had me utterly captivated. Unfortunately, I had to take the occasional break to eat and sleep, but then I got right back to reading! Fallon has got to be my absolute favorite heroine of all time. She exudes confidence in everything she says and does and has zero tolerance for drama and those who bring it, enabling her to effectively pick and choose her battles. Despite being burned a time or two by her exes she's still vulnerable enough to let her walls down and entertain the idea of pursuing something a little more serious with Brody, who happens to be super hot. I love that he has a past as well, a heart-breaking one at that, and has his own issues to deal with before completely letting go. It made the characters very real and easy to relate to. So of course I was rooting for them to get their acts together and finally make something happen.

It's not all lovey-dovey though, there's a story full of suspense and action playing out in the background and it does not disappoint. Each of the characters right down to the villains, were well developed and effectively caused me to be angry and frustrated as only "good" villains can do. I was literally on the edge of my seat flipping (or in my case swiping) through the pages as quickly as possible as I became so wrapped up in all the action. I am beyond content with the ending, especially since it was NOT a cliffhanger. (That seems to be the thing to do lately). I greatly appreciate authors who wrap up the story line and tie off all the loose ends by the end of the book, yet leave off in a way where the next book in the series can easily pick up and continue the story. And I will most definitely be reading the next book in the series! I am officially a HUGE fan of Ms. Rivers.

  About the Author:

I started writing at a very young age. It probably didn’t help that I won the young author award in first grade, it might have started it all.

If you haven’t figured it out, I love to read. Those choose your own adventures were an early favorite. Then I moved on to Stephen King at 10. Hey, my grandmother who I love dearly got me started on horror movies at 5. Then by 12 I was reading Anne Rice. I read just about anything, but I love my monsters and magic.
