Review - CLAIMED by Elle Kennedy

The bestselling author of the Killer Instincts novels “knows how to write scorching sexual tension” (USA Today). Now she really sets it on fire in a new series about men and women living on the edge of violence, sex, and life and death.

After a devastating war decimated most of the world, Hudson Lane has only known the oppressive life under her own father’s tyranny. She finally escapes, branding herself an outlaw and hunted by the Enforcers. Her best chance at survival is Connor Mackenzie, an aggressively sensual fugitive who opens her eyes to the wicked possibilities of a world without rules.

As the leader of a band of outlaw fighters, Connor can’t resist the beautiful stranger who asks for his protection. Despite his reservations, he agrees to introduce her to a whole new way of life. But when Connor discovers Hudson’s connection to the enemies of liberty, he wonders how far he can trust the woman who has abandoned all inhibitions to challenge every forbidden desire.

Claimed (Outlaws, #1)Claimed by Elle Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

6 Stars!!! – Favorite Read of 2015

Hot, dirty, sexy – while these are highly appropriate words to describe what I just read they don’t even come close to portraying the sinfully delicious debauchery contained within these pages. All I can say is WOW and when can I have more??

I have never read a book by Elle Kennedy before, but I’m thinking this was the best place to start. If only I’d known what I’ve been missing I would’ve jumped on the bandwagon a lot sooner! I finished reading Claimed last night and want to read it again just to experience it all once more. It was that good. And did I mention HOT?? I’m still fanning myself.

I am a huge fan of dystopian novels, the more dark & twisted the better. I just find it intriguing to think of what the world could be in an alternate reality, and how people would adapt and survive. Ms. Kennedy brings a fresh new concept to the table, where a majority of the world has been destroyed by war and natural disasters, and what’s left of the world’s inhabitants are either part of the Colonies, Outlaws or Bandits. And let me tell you, if I had a choice I’d be joining the Outlaws…specifically Connor’s group. Holy Hotness!! Coming across his group in a dark alley would be the answer to every woman’s dirtiest prayers.

What really appealed to me the most is how the Outlaws live with no inhibitions. They know tomorrow isn’t promised, so they have to live in the moment and go after what they want. In this world there are no rules anymore, no structure for those who choose to live outside the Colonies. This world is a very dangerous place, yet oddly exciting at the same time. That’s what makes living vicariously through Hudson so enticing! She’s new to the Outlaw experience yet catches on very quickly.

Without a doubt I would HIGHLY recommend this phenomenal book! Claimed is incredibly written, with well-developed characters, and steam that’ll leave you panting and wanting more. This was quite an experience! Kudos to Ms. Kennedy for thoroughly knocking my socks off. Bring on book 2!
